I’m heading to St. Louis this afternoon for some training on Monday & Tuesday. Now I have to put up with all the Cardinal fans celebrating. I am praying for strength & patience!!

Well, another Thanksgiving is upon us. Another time to have the family over to share some good times. Sally was up at 5:00 to get Birdzilla in the oven, should be done around 10:30 or 11:00. The pumpkin pies and blueberry cobbler are already made. The sweet potatoes are cooked, they just need to be candied. But there is still quite a bit of work to do.
We have quite a bit to be thankful for this year. Besides the usual things that we are always thankful for, we had an addition to the family. No, Mandy didn’t have another baby. Sally’s dad; Paul, got married in September. Since then, he has been gone more than he’s been home. But, we’re glad that he is happy, and we welcome Sharon to the family. This will be her inaugural Thanksgiving dinner with the clan; but we’ll try not to scare her away.
The weather is another matter altogether. It has been raining since early yesterday morning, and is supposed to keep raining most of the day today. On top of that, it is going to get cooler as the day goes on. That may give us a few snow flurries later. But it does not matter as long as the family can be together.
I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well.

Spent last evening at my daughter’s house for the grandkids birthday parties. Mandy and Zach were both born on the same day; but 5 years apart. I loved watching their faces as they open the presents, but Zach really took the cake. Out of all the presents he received, the biggest reaction was from a birthday card. It had Lightning McQueen on the front, and played “Life is a Highway” when he opened it.
Go figure, right?!!?

The Yankees sweep in 3, with 2 on the road. Please, somebody beat them!!
The Phillies sweep in 3, with 1 on the road. That was sort of expected.
The Giants and Braves are waiting to show up, so for now they are just taking turns. How polite. Giants lead the series 2-1.
And that leaves us with the Rays and Rangers. They can’t wait to get on the road, so far only the road team has won. Series tied 2-2 as they head to Tampa. Just what Texas was waiting for!

The playoffs have started, and so far; they have been some “interesting” games. Except for the Twins, that is. I think someone forgot to tell them that these games counted. The first exit of the playoffs…
Who is next?

Recently on Facebook, someone had a post about a quiz they took to find out how “gay” they are. They proudly reported that they were 21% gay. How is that possible?
Sorry if I offend anyone, but it isn’t possible. You are either gay, or you are normal. That’s it. My spouse pointed this out and included the fact that it was better not to be gay, and was immediately chastised for her belief. This person even threatened to “smack the stupid” out of her. It was feebly disguised, but it was there. Don’t smack her, instead; just step back and listen to yourself.
First, this person continually keeps posting that they don’t love their child any less because the child is gay. Nobody ever said that they did, so where is this coming from. Obviously, from themselves. This person must have doubts about their ability to love their gay child. Why? Because deep inside them, they know that it isn’t right.
Why isn’t it right? Probably because it just isn’t natural. Let’s leave the laws of God out of this for now, and let’s just look at the laws of nature. It isn’t natural!! It is as simple as that. It can’t be 21% unnatural, it is either 100% or 0%. And trust me, it is 100% unnatural! There is a reason they call it “sodomy”, folks.
You may call this rude, but I call it telling the truth. You may call it crude, I call it “getting to the point”. Am I being obnoxious? I sure hope so. I hope that this gets under people’s skin or in their head. I hope they talk about it. I hope they think about it. A lot! Let them call me all kinds of names. I’m tough, I can take it. I hope they even threaten to “smack the stupid” out of me.

My Live Spaces blog was just imported over to WordPress. It has been a while since I’ve blogged at all, so we will see if this makes a difference.

How do you define “hero”? This could be one example…

Well, we’re on our way to New Orleans for a wedding. One of Sally’s old “Army buddies” from my Ft. Lewis, WA days has a son that is getting married tonight.
Right now, I am sitting in a hotel room waiting for Sally to wake up. I hate hotel beds! I couldn’t get to sleep till after midnight, and was up at 4:30 this morning. The wedding isn’t till 7:00 tonight, with a reception at Southern Oaks Plantation afterwards. It’s going to be a long day!
